What's the difference between non-medical homcare Vs Home Health agency?

I want to invest in senior care but not very sure what’s the best agency type to invest in.

For a lower-cost option with easier setup, a Home Care Agency (Non-Medical) provides companionship and assistance with daily activities. For higher revenue potential and more regulation, a Home Health Agency (Medical) offers skilled nursing and therapy services at home. If you’re interested in a residential model, an Assisted Living Facility provides housing with support but requires more capital and management. Alternatively, a Group Home offers a smaller, community-oriented residential setting where seniors live together with 24/7 assistance and care, often at a lower cost than assisted living. Each option meets different needs in senior care.

Thanks. I need to get provider medicare reimbursements and I know its profitable. Which one is the best type to get into Medicare?

A Home Health Agency (Skilled) is the best option, as you can only be eligible for Medicare if you provide skilled or medical services, such as nursing.

Yeah for medicare we need to apply with CMS 855A

Home health agency will give you more revenue. Higher rates.

But nonskilled you can easily setup. Less trouble :exploding_head:

So with non medical you don’t qualify for Medicare? Then how do you get paid then?thanks

No, Medicare doesn’t cover non-medical home care since it only pays for skilled or medical services. Most people pay out of pocket, use long-term care insurance, or qualify for programs like Medicaid waivers or VA benefits if they’re eligible.

But do Medicaid pays for none medical homehealth services?

Yes, medicaid can pay for non-medical services, but it depends on the state and specific Medicaid programs or waivers.
